It can be very difficult finding the words for your best friends big day. The most important part of toasting on the big day is to be fearless.

That is how to get the honest appluase in short. To be a little more specific start with an intro to get people listening to you rather than just day dream. I mean really speak to them.

Grab them with some jokes and when you get some laughs then you will know everyone is listening. Try to make it personal on a family basis. Make sure the story you choose is interesting even if you need to exaggerate it a little. Ogf course keep it fun and away from the risk of insulting someone in the process.

By ending on a high note close with a strong sentence that will erupt the crowd. To think of something off the top of my head you could say something like, “John, as my best friend for as long as I can remembey you sure know how to pick the winners. Starting a new life with your lovely bride go get’ em kid.”. Then boom the crowd cheers for an outstanding best man wedding speech.

If you truly want to knock the crowd dead then throw in some jokes to ease them. After all it is a day full of happiness.

I think there is a certain way of doing this which is to mix it up with emtional things. Like including a joke at the beginning followed by a story about how you met the groom. Then a joke thrown in there. Spread them out so the audience remains focused to catch the jokes and you do not lose them.

That way they will feel touched once you get to the emotional stuff. Trying to think of jokes on the spot can easily add an awkward pause. So be sure to write them with your best man speech beforehand so you know they will be good and you can resight them.

Being picked as the best man by your closest friend or relative can be very honorable. However at the same time you need to write your own speech.

It can be daunting at first but you can easily take advantage of the moment and blow everyone away. It does not matter if you are a complete stranger to most of the audience which can be very uncomfortable. I should know.

My advice is to just keep it simple. A secret tool to use in your speech is telling a story about you and your best friend or how you met his wife. That is what the body should be of any best man wedding speech.
